In 2010 I starting having some very strange symtoms. Nymbness in the right side of my face,a feeling of drooling,right ear problems and a twitching eye. Over the course of the year I saw neurologists (several),infectious disease doctors,ear,eyes and throat,and a host of others. Suffered through every test they could think of to give me. I exhaused my deductable on my insurance,spent a large amount of money in co-pay and reached my maximum spending for they year. And yet at the end no difference.

My co-worker,who is a patient of Dr. Shepherd's suggested I go see him. Normally this would not have even been an option assuming there could be no link. Upon her assistance I went.

It is now 2012 and my symptoms so rairly appear that I can cont them on one hand. And if they do appear they are so mild it does not affect my daily routine at all. It is amazing what these services have done for me. I truly want to thank my co-worker and Dr. Shepherd for doing what so many others could not.

Approximately two months ago,my 9 ½ year old son began having problems with his stomach. Usually,my son is an early riser- a very happy person in the morning. Day by day it got harder and harder for him to get out of bed in the morning. His stomach hurt and he felt nauseous. He vomited most mornings before and after breakfast. It soon became very difficult to get him to go to school,much to the frustration of his teacher and myself.

We sought help from our Pediatrician,who ran tests to find a cause for my son's stomach pain and nausea. Blood,urine,stool,ultra-sound,flat-plate x-ray and upper G.I. Tests all came back inconclusive. We took my son to a child psychologist thinking maybe he was having problems at school or with friends that would cause him to be sick. The psychologist could find no basis for my son's condition.

We made an appointment to see an allergist and decided to consult a chiropractor before seeing any other specialists. What a relief to see that my son's x-rays showed a possible cause for his condition! After one week of visits to see Dr. Shepherd,we could see a definite change in my son. He no longer felt nauseous in the morning and the pain in his stomach was getting lesser and lesser. The second week of treatment I could hear my son whistling in the morning as he made his bed.

The visit to the allergist showed no cause for my son's condition. We will continue to visit Dr. Shepherd – especially because of my son's love for the sport of gymnastics. We are so grateful for the help Dr. Shepherd has given us. His caring bed-side manner is heart-felt.

Dear Dr. Shepherd

I am writing to let you know what you have done for my family. For you may not remember,but a mother never forgets.

A mother never forgets when her child is in pain. When another and another doctor says you must give your child immunizations it is the law. Steven stopped breathing and turned blue but it did not matter to them only to this mother which is me.

Dr. Shepherd you stepped in and said it not only matters to you but also to me. So you told me they are not telling you the truth,and gave me a book to read,and a one page form to fill out. You showed me that I did not have to hurt my child with the poisons from the immunizations,and you saved my child's life. How can I ever thank you enough.

Now you would think that would be where it all stops,but it is not. For another child of mine kept getting ear infections,and the doctor kept giving her antibiotics. I was concerned that they were going to put tubes in her ears. Again,you stepped in and gave me something to place in her formula once a day. Jenny has not had an ear infection in 9 years.

Every time I have a concern,a question,or any other problem,you have always been there to help me,to guide me,and to heal my family and myself.

I would not know how to express my ever loving gratitude,so with all my heart,I thank you for everything you have done.

Dear Dean,

I have been an amputee since 1981,and a patient of yours for the past eight years. Since becoming an amputee,I have dealt with phantom pain on a regular basis and have tried a number of processes to manage the pain.

What I have found to be the most effective pain management process is the treatment plan which you suggested consisting of regular chiropractic adjustments,and the use of cold packs when I experience phantom pain. Your process has decreased the number of days I experience phantom pain episodes,along with the intensity of the pain I experience.

I started chiropractic care in 2002 with Dr. Shepherd. At that time,my symptoms included blurred vision,tingling and numbness on the right side of my face,pain on the right side of my neck and shoulder,and no balance when walking. Dr. Shepherd was very thorough in his assessment of my condition,with a battery of medical tests,so as to rule out anything medical. With the adjustment of my atlas and other spinal adjustments my symptoms disappeared. I know from my care at Dr. Shepherd's office that chiropractic care is vital to my health and well-being.

I suffered from migraine headaches for 2 ½ years,had severe allergies,and was on antibiotics for 2 years due to my lowered immune system this made the situation even worse,my body couldn't defend itself. I has seen 15 doctors ranging from my family's general practitioner,to acupuncture,and in an act of desperation,even saw a psychic healer. In the 2 years before finding Dr. Shepherd,the pain was so severe,I spent most of the nights crying,and the days in the doctors offices. I was terrified I had a tumor and thought I'd never have a normal life. I was only 16 years old and I was always in a bad mood because I felt miserably. I had seen a chiropractor before,but he didn't have the specialized x-rays or exercise maneuvers.

After my first visit and adjustment,I felt more relief than anyone had ever given me. I cried I was so happy. I've been seeing Dr. Shepherd for over 2 years,upon his recommendation I went to wholistic services,for a nutrition plan,I also do special manuevers for my neck problems. I haven't been on antibiotics since my first visit. This winter I had only one bad cold,and when flu season came around,I didn't get it. Thanks to Dr. Shepherd I live a better than normal life. I can't put into words what he has done for me. He's changed my life immeasurably.

Matt had chronic ear infections since he was two weeks old. He was taking antibiotics for his first 1 ½ years of life,even for preventative measures.

I took Matt to a ear,nose,and throat specialist a couple different times and it was suggested to me that he should have tubes put in his ears. I didn't want to go that route,but I wanted Matt off the antibiotics. It was at this time that someone mentioned to me to take Matt in to see a Chiropractor. My husband and I have been to chiropractors before,but I had no idea they could treat ear infections.

In December of 1991,we took Matt to a chiropractor. Because of insurance reasons,we switched to Dr. Dean Shepherd. He worked with Matt on a more regular basis. Dr Shepherd recommended Matt drink goat's milk to aid in the healing process.

It was probably within a 1-2 month period when Matt's ears were healthy with no ear infections reoccurring. Matt now sleeps soundly and is less irritable. I am very happy that I didn't have to resort to tubes.

I would like to take the time to thank you for all the help you have given me over the past month. I came to you with severe neck pain that would radiate to my temples,forehead,and the top of my head whenever I turned my head. I also had vertigo along with severe depression.

I went through emergency open-heart surgery on August 16th,2002. This was my fourth open-heart surgery. The surgery lasted for ten hours and left me with the above problems. I went to a Psychotherapist who prescribed Zoloff to treat the depression. I went to my family doctor who prescribed Tylenol 3 and referred me to a neurologist who then sent me to the pain clinic at Waukesha Hospital. I received four injections of steroids in my first and third vertebra. None of these treatments were successful. Their last suggestion was surgery and I responded,“no way”.

In early October of this year I went to Dr. Shepherd and asked for his help. On my first visit he took x-rays and after consultation he said he would treat me with a conservative procedure. After six treatments the pain in my neck was reduced by 80 per-cent,I no longer was handicapped with vertigo and I was completely free of depression. I could now enjoy my normal quality of life.

My wife and I will be going to Florida to spend the winter on October 17th. I have only one more visit scheduled with Dr. Shepherd tomorrow and I am delighted to say I'm almost free of pain.
